Overview

Histamine - Whole Blood measures circulating histamine levels in a whole blood sample. Histamine is a biogenic amine involved in immune response and inflammatory processes.

This test may be clinically useful in contexts including allergic reactions, urticaria, anaphylaxis, mast cell disorders, asthma or suspected histamine-related food intolerance. Elevated histamine levels may be associated with active immune or inflammatory responses.

Results are interpreted alongside symptom history, medication use, dietary patterns and other laboratory findings. Reviewing histamine levels in context enables practitioners to assess immune activity patterns and discuss findings appropriately with clients.
